Taking a shower is a basic and important skill to cleanse our body of germs and odor. But did you know it’s more than just scrubbing blindly, and there are many hidden factors that determine how effective they will be? These are five of the best and usually overlooked elements that can significantly improve the quality of your showers.

Frequency Depends

Culture suggests showering daily for a healthier body. However, this is only true for a percentage of people. The frequency of your showers actually depends primarily on what you do and how hot the environment is around you. For example, showering daily removes your body’s natural oils unless you sweat a lot. 2-3 times a week is recommended for less active individuals living in moist and cool atmospheres.

Never Wear Clothes If You’re Still Wet

Always ensure you’re dry before putting on your clothes. Otherwise, you will experience rashes, moist traps, loose and weaker clothing, clinging, and discomfort. Make it a rule to do this even when you’re rushing to go out of your home at The Serra Residences.

Shower Quickly

If you’ve ever felt unusually dry or dizzy when you get out of the shower, you may have been in for too long. Generally, spending only around 4 minutes to wash is an adequate amount to maintain a healthy body. Anything longer than 10 minutes is when it begins to cause some negative effects, as this can strip away body preservatives and cause irritation.

Focus Points

Focus more on treating pulse points or crevices on your body. This is because germs are usually latching on to these spots and could be breeding grounds. Additionally, this prevents overwashing of non-focus points, which can lead to losing natural oils.

Immediately Dry After Washing

Leaving water droplets all over your body to let evaporate or trickle away can take off your natural oils, which often results in extreme dryness or rashes. Use a comfy and moderately rough towel to quicken drying and remove dead cells at the same time.
